Challenge
Securing high-voltage subsea cable infrastructure along an underwater rock face, where drilling had to be carried out horizontally into rock rather than vertically into the seabed.
NorClean solution
NorClean positioned its ROV drilling system against the rock face and drilled horizontally for anchor bolts. CONCRETE MATTRESS INSTALLATION FOR POWER CABLE: NorClean carried out the installation of concrete mattresses at the cable landfall to support and protect the power cable.
Result
Anchor-bolt drilling and concrete mattress installation at the cable landfall were completed during documented Nexans operations in 2019 and 2023.
